About Us

Design Innovation was started in 1984 as an engineering consulting business in addition to my corporate job. In 2002 it became my full-time occupation and was registered as a DBA, with the trademark registered too. In 2013 we incorporated, and the company is now Design Innovation Inc.

Scott Lefton is an engineer and inventor who is named on numerous patents in the electronic and mechanical fields. He is also an IEEE Life Member.

Other Projects

This pitcher plant lamp incorporates glass, metal, wood, and electronics. The glass has been kiln formed into curved shapes for a much more organic look than traditional stained glass can offer. The metal parts are a mixture of  cast, CNC milled, and hand formed. The wood parts are a mixture of CNC milled, lathe turned, and hand carved. Each head of the lamp includes an AC LED bulb and a ring of programmable RGBW LEDs. The lamp includes a custom wireless controller for all of the lighting features.
